Banksy Immigration Mural

A Banksy’s iconic mural piece tackling immigration has been scrubbed from a wall in Clacton on Sea, Essex after the council, not realising they had a real life Banksy which would be “worth a lot of money”, responded to a complaint that it was “offensive”.



It’s been painted over, destroyed. Perhaps Banksy is pleased. The art existed, arguably still exists, even though it has been destroyed.

AN empty seafront building has been brought back to life as a gallery for local artists.

It will be used to display a range of work and adds another attraction to the seafront for visitors and residents.

Stefanie Hayes from the Clacton Art Circle said: “This is a great opportunity for our members to showcase their talents to a wide audience and we are pleased that we were able to come to an arrangement with the council for this prominent site.”
