Throughout the 1920’s architect Oliver Hill planned to develop a luxury Victorian and art deco building estate, involving a prospective 100 room cliff top hotel, cinema, colleges, churches and houses all depicting the elegant Art Deco Styles in the Twenties. Sadly lack of funding or demand for these way out styles known as a halt towards the development, the outbreak of war in 1939 ended Oliver Hills vision, resulting in the corporation going bankrupt.

The entirely round ‘Estate Office’ remains these days having a impressive mosaic floor showing the plans from the intended estate.The dozen Art Deco houses continue to be lived in to this day, and are an excellent resaon to go to Frinton-on Sea using a reputation as an exclusive resort, Frinton retains an atmosphere in the 1920s and 30s. New one have just been built in the last few years. (see above)
