Neil joined the Red Arrows in January 2012.

As Officer Commanding RAF Red Arrows, Neil has the responsibility for all Red Arrows flying, engineering, administrative and safety matters and ensures that the procedures followed by the Team allow for safe and efficient flying, during both practice and displays.

Squadron Leader Jim Turner

Jim flew the Jaguar GR3A before joining the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team.

Age – 40

Education – Jim was educated at the Kings School, Canterbury where he was a member of the Combined Cadet Force. He was awarded a Royal Air Force Flying Scholarship and his time spent with the Cadet Force gave him a burning ambition to become a Royal Air Force pilot. Although awarded a university place, Jim decided he couldn’t wait 3 more years and joined the Royal Air Force straight out of school at 18 years of age.
