Scouts and Scouting in Tendring

The Tendring Scout District comprises 14 Scout Groups, with Beaver Scout (6 – 8 years), Cub Scout (8 – 10½ years) and Scout (10½ – 14 years) sections, as well as 7 Explorer Units (14 – 18 years), in the towns and villages across the Tendring Peninsular.

They offer a programme of challenging and adventurous activities for young people, based on the Aims and Methods of the Scout Association and supported by a dedicated team of adult Leaders. New members, young or adult, are always welcome.

The District currently has over 900 young people involved in Scouting, aged from 6 to 25 of all abilities and backgrounds. Our aim is to help them to achieve their full physical, emotional, mental, intellectual & social potential so that as members of their local community they can make a positive contribution in the future.

Tendring District is a large area in Essex and there are no buildings within the organisation that can accommodate joint meetings, leader training and physical activities such as climbing and archery . The new HQ will enable us to increase the number of people involved in scouting by forming a new group and expanding existing ones, holding charity and fundraising events for the community.
